Sorry again, I've been meaning to write about some other travels I've had over the past months, but as everyone knows, it's hard to sit down for 5 minutes when you have a one year old!!!!
On June 5 2010, I traveled all the way to Windsor Ontario to start my longest tour to date. The screening was part of a diner and a movie night with the Alzheimer's Society of Windsor. It was held at the Lumberjack Restaurant and the diner was fantastic! Even though it was a Saturday night there was still about 20 people out to have a great meal and veiw the film, again I need to thank everyone who made it out that night and to everyone at the Alzheimer's Society of Windsor, and thanks to Rosemary for all her help!!! http://www.alzheimerwindsor.com/ On June 7 I began my travel back east and stopped in a small town of Chatham Ontario to do the next presentation. I had the pleasure of staying at the Retro Suites hotel on main street Chatham, which is a beautiful old hotel that has been updated with a lot of modern art, a very cool place. The presentation was held that night at the Active Lifestyles centre, and there was about 80 people who cam out that night, it was a beautiful evening and as the film played I managed to sit outside ina local park and enjoy the sun, then I went back to the Retro suites and had a great meal! Thanks to Jana and all her co-workers who made eveything happen, and thanks for all the food!!!! http://www.alzheimerchathamkent.ca/ The next day was a big one as I had two presentations, the first one was in the small town of Tilsonburg at 1pm at the North Broadway Babptist Church, and the turn out was great with about 40 people showing up. The 2nd presentation was that same night in Woodstock held at the South Gate centre and again a great turn out with about another 40 people and as always thanks for all the questions. I want to thank Beth for all her hard work and for taking me out to diner! http://www.alzheimer.oxford.on.ca/ On June 9 I was of to the Sarnia Chapter of the Alzheimer's Soceity, and again to another beautiful town about 30 minutes north of Sarnia. Forest is a great little town and I was lucky to have some time in the afternoon to walk around downtown and grab a quick bite and even visit the local libray. One these travels I usually stay at a hotel, but sometimes when I head to a small town I am treated to stay at a B&B. In Forest I stay at the Windows Past B&B which was great! thanks to Liz for all her organization and the film played at the Forest Kineto Theatre, which is a big old theatre ( in fact 2nd oldest in the world) and the turn out again was amazing, I believe it was closed to 100 people!!! Thanks to everyone, I even got back in time to see the finals of the Stanley Cup Final! http://www.alzheimer.sarnia.com/ And finally the next day I was off to Clinton to do a presentation for the Alzheimer's Society of Huron. The film was played after their AGM at their office and again I want to thank Maggie for her passion and for another great stay at the Kildonan House. thanks more to come! http://www.alzheimerhuron.on.ca/
Don't forget I will be in Toronto this month for 3 presentations Oct 26 at the Alzheimer's Society of Toronto (Younge & Eglington) at 1pm and 7pm, and on the 27th at the Christie Gardens. http://www.asmt.org/
