Hello All What a year it's been! It all started last January when this website started and the film screened for the first time on TVO on Sunday, January 11, which was a bit crazy, because I had just got back from my honeymoon the day before! The screening was followed by a live discussion on TVO with myself and other experts from the Alzheimer's field. When I got back home to Montreal the next day, I had many emails to answer and had already requests to appear on CBC and CTV news. The website started getting more traffic and people started to become members. The film then aired on The Knowledge Network on January 20th and SCN on February 18. From there we had more members and more people contacting me. March 2nd & 3rd saw the theatrical debut of the film screening at Cinema du Parc in Montreal. With the help of Cindy Aikmen at the Alzheimer's Groupe I had a ton of press before each screening. There was an article in the Globe & Mail, the Gazette, The Toronto Star, interviews on CBC radio, CJAD, CKUT, and The Fan 990, as well as CTV and Global News. That was enough press to almost sell out both nights at Cinema du Parc and even had people sitting in the aisles! The film did so well at Cinema du Parc they brought the film back for a full week from March 27- April 2nd. On April 8th I travelled to Toronto to screen the film at the Caregivers Expo and the film screened at it's first film festival at the Okanagan film fest on April 23. April 24th was a busy day, I screened the film at the "Forget Me Not" Workshop in Montreal in the morning, then caught a flight to Colorado for the film's US deput at the Indie Spirit Film Festival the same afternoon. I attended the film festival and was on one of the filmmakers panels, and after a great screening the film won it's first award, "Best International Film," which was a big surprise. April 30th I travelled to Belleville to screen the film at the "In Your Shoes" Workshop and then attended the Hot Docs film festival where the film screened for industry people. At this time, I also conducted many experts interviews which you can now find on our site. On May 22, I screened the film at the "In Your Shoes' workshop in Brockville, and as well the website grew with new members. On June 10 I screened the film for the Jewish Cummings centre here in Montreal. And on August 14 the film screened at the Indie Gathering in Westlake Ohio, where it won a Gold Metal in the Documentary category. In September, I headed back out on the road for more screenings through the Alzhemer's Society of Ontario, on September 22nd I was in Whitby, September 23rd I was in Stratford and on September 28th in Guelph. On October 14, the film screened in my mom's home town of Lachute, Quebec at the United Church and on October 31, the film screened at the Social Cinema festival in Long Island New York. And on Oct 21, Kim and I welcomed our first child Nathan! I have a lot more coming up in the new year, and still plan to try and keep this site growing and adding new features to this site, my goal is to add a lot of new videos this year. So I would like to thank everyone who has either become a member and told their story, or just posted on the discussion boards, or has simply posted something somewhere. You will be hearing from me a lot more in the new year! Please check back to the site for all my up coming screenings starting in January and I will see everyone on the road! Happy Holidays to everyone! Chris, Kim & Nathan Wynn

![]() ...I just saw your moving tribute to your dad on tv. My dad was older as it all unfolded in our family but the emotional experiences resonate deeply. Shortly after my marriage in 2008 my father went into hospital and spent the last six months of his life moving back and forth between acute and long term care. I'm in my fifties and like you, I too worry about my future, as my paternal grandmother, two of my father's sisters and his brother spent the last years of their lives retreating into the shadows of their own minds (one of them was early onset.) I found that I grieved terribly during Dad's illness as I was losing the man I so loved and looked up to. Thank you for the honest and gentle sharing of your family's joys and worries. Many happinesses to you all. ...Dear Chris, |

Was it hard to film your father in his condition?
