After The Film Premiere
Tuesday, 13 January 2009 16:44

My wife Kim and I had returned home from a three week vacation in Vancouver, Victoria and Kauai on January 10th, I had little time to relax as I had to board a train to Toronto early Sunday morning so I could attend the films premiere Sunday night on TVO and the special Your Voice discussion on after the film, needless to say I was a bit tired. I arrived in Toronto around 4pm checked into my hotel, grabbed a quick bite and I was off to TVO. As soon as I got to the station I was rushed right into make-up and then I had a chance to meet the other experts who would be on the panel along with me. On the panel was Dr. Peter St.George-Hyslop, Tiffany Chow, Joan Skelton and myself. We got to watch the film in the Green Room as it played on T.V. Then we were moved to the studio to do a sound check and some rehearsals. At this point my heart was starting to race. The film finished and the live panel discussion began. As the show went on and was finally moved from T.V. to online I managed to calm down a bit and hopefully give some good answers. The show was a great success, and I’ve been answer emails for the last few days, after receiving almost 50 emails about how everyone enjoyed the film. Thanks again to everyone who watched and there’s more screenings to come.

Hi Chris, just finished watching your film, it was beautiful and touching. Your families exceptional devotion to your Dad is so inspiring. He was very loved and cared for, and I'm sure he knew that. I am sure he is happy now with Hadley by his side, waiting for everyone's reunion one day. Many blessings to you and kim, and your Mom. I wish you all the best, and thank you for opening up your heart to the world, it left a lasting impression.

Chris I am a Personal Support Worker student who was touched by your film. I watched it at a time I needed an article on AD for a class project. I was so moved by your film I decided to do my assignment on your film. Your family is truly blessed souls to share your life with your Dad and his illeness with us. I am now going to share it with my class, and hope when I get out in the field I can use some of the tips to help others.
I wish you and your family all the best.

I happened upon your show last night... I was so touched by your family, your mother and you. How devoted and caring you all were to your father. It made me more compassionate to my own father. I'm on my way to visit him today! I want to write more but need to go now.

Great job Chris. I've got to say, I liked your father from the start even though I never had the opportunity to meet him. His reaction to the birth of his grandchild was priceless. I'm sad we never met up on the golf course years earlier. He seemed like such a wonderful guy. Once again thanks to you and your family for opening up your life and his to us all. My mom also suffers from AZ.
