Would you want to know?

A colleague of mine sent me this video done by CBC where scientists have found a link to detecting Alzheimer's Disease early.  My question to you is would you really want to know this information, knowing that there isn't a cure?

I agree with Barbara, even though I made this film and in the film I do memory tests, but if there was a way to know I don't think I could go through with it. It affects a lot of people in my life. But yes probably later in life I might want to know more.

At the moment there is no cure, but that is not say there might be one in 5, 10 or 15 years. Or a drug that would slow the progress of the disease.

Right now, no, I would not want to know, if only because I am still dealing with my father having Alzheimer's.

But early detection could help one plan more effectively for the future, be it eventually moving to a smaller place or closer to friends or relatives, revising a will or power of attorney, or making other arrangements before the disease actually sets in.

I'm 50 now, but maybe at 70, I might want to know this information.
