My name is Stephanie Welsh; I currently work as the First Link Coordinator at the Alzheimer Society of Timmins and Porcupine District in Timmins, ON. I've been working in the field of geriatrics for 5 years now starting at the Alzheimer Society in Sudbury then moving unto Timmins.

Working with the older population has always been a great passion of mine and I feel as though they are truly inspiring and have amazing stories to share.

Working at both the Alzheimer Society of Sudbury followed by the Alzheimer Society of Timmins I've developed a need to want to assist all those affected by the disease and especially caregivers and loved one. Because as we our aware unfortunately researchers and scientist haven’t come across a cure and once a diagnosis is made many don't have any hope left.

I feel as though education and awareness of the disease is are best solution to help not only prevent this illness but assist caregivers and those with the disease throughout the disease.  

If I can reach one family or one person with the disease and help them throughout this long journey I've done my job.
