my mom (who just turned 60) was diagnosed with frontal- lobe dementia. My sisters and I now realize that she had probably been dealing with the symptoms for a few years but never put it together. We are so saddened and frightened as we learn about this form of dementia. She is the glue that holds our family together. She has 13 grandkids and they are all under the age of 13. She is idolized by all of them. What does the future hold for them and her? I can only hope to have the courage to remember who she is and not let the disease become who she is. |
